The third edition of 70.3 Cascais didn't disappoint.  Sold out again and a multitude of nations from across the world.
The weather was excellent for the whole race weekend although the wind did pick up for us on race morning.  The organisation
and volunteers were great as always, always smiling and willing to help.  The professionals that attended and raced was awesome to
witness, taking part alongside Javier Gomes and Emma Pallant. The first 3 men all finishing in under 4 hours too!
For myself, I didn't improve on the last two years time. I decided late on to sign up plus life issues meant I didn't want or undertake any
focused training, I just needed to train with friends, in the ocean, on the roads and on the trails.  I PB'd my swim, was 5 minutes slower
on the bike and 1 minute slower on the run, completing in 04:55 hours.
The support and crowds were amazing, this is my local race and everyone knows the Estoril Praia team colours. I had the most fun this year and thats what really counted.  Having my son support me from start to finish was also really special.
One week to recover before I attempt my first trail marathon.
